Here are the band video packages that are available at Riffster Productions. These are great starting points that will help everyone know straight away what the scope is of your video project. It also gives a mini breakdown of what's involved & what's needed on my end. In any of these scenarios, if the band needs their music to be recorded as a whole or a part, Riffster can also provide audio studio services.
1. MUSIC VIDEO
Shot in controlled environment. There really is no limit to the creative possibilities here. A significant amount of pre-planning must be done in order to fully accomplish the vision in whatever time slots are available at the given venues(s). Once all the concepts are worked out, the shooting can begin. Is the music video mostly story or mostly performance or is it 30/70? The performance shoot will generally consist of 1 group coverage of the entire song then 1 pass of each of the performers through the length of the song. Audio is to be provided as a PA reference for the performers to lip-sync to during the multiple passes. The band will provide me with their final audio mix to be synced to the footage in post production along with the story footage. Using 4K and 8K cameras & aerial video if needed. Shoot time is anywhere from 5-12 hours to days.
2. HYBRID MUSIC VIDEO
Shot in a controlled environment. Similar to the Music Video but is more than one song and typically cover songs. Around 3-4 songs and in order to conserve time, songs and video shooting are limited to just the parts that will be used in the video of around 20 seconds each song. The bands audio is to be provided as a PA reference for the performers to lip-sync to during the multiple video passes. Bands graphics, logos, taglines are to be provided to incorporate in the intro and outro. Shoot time is generally 4-7 hours.
3. STEALTH BAND PROMO
Live action. Typical venues are hard to access areas like packed clubs, restricted areas and theaters. Much if not all of the footage is shot from multiple static positions with one 8K camera mounted on a tripod or other sources. One stationary 4K camera will be actively tracking the front man. One camera might be on an automated panning slider. Depending conditions, up to 2 more hazard cameras on stage. Audio should be captured live via the main FOH in multitrack fashion. That audio then goes to me by memory card, flash, drive or ftp upload link. In the event that the house board cannot provide a multitrack audio output, then I will use my stereo room mic and possibly any connection output from the FOH as the primary audio source. My disclaimer is that non-multitracked audio is susceptible to multiple failure points but as always, I try to do the best with what I have. It is worth the band's effort to sincerely try to attain a multitrack batch from either the FOH or 3rd party. Shoot time around 2 hours. Final video promo length 2-5 minutes in length.
4. JACKED BAND PROMO
Live action. Almost entirely the same as the Stealth Promo but the main camera will be mounted to a dynamic, mobile gimbal for a more lively feel to anywhere I have easy access. This is only possible with much less restrictions at the given venue. Shoot time around 2 hours. Final video promo length 2-5 minutes covering around 4-7 songs of roughly 20 second song spots.
5. FREEBALLER BAND PROMO
Live action. Non-audio synced video. This is hyper blended, fast paced, high impact video with many bits of video that is not synchronous to the audio. There will be 1-2 fixed cameras on tripods and one mobile camera. Mobile camera will switch methods from gimbal stabilized to handheld to hazardcam handheld. I will be on the stage, off the stage and anywhere that I have access. It is worth the band's effort to sincerely try to attain a multitrack batch from the FOH or provide their finalized audio. Shoot time around 2 hours. Final video promo length, 30-90 seconds covering around 1-2 songs.
6. OFF THE RAILS
Something with a musical concept that doesn't fit into the above package descriptions.
Let's talk!
